MCMS Conference 2008 - page 2
Our Leaders for the weekend will include:
Alison
Adam
Alison is a member of the Iona Community living and working in London.
She was a member of the Wild Goose Resource Group and now works on a
freelance basis
under the name Worship Works. She believes in the need for worship that
is more participative – worship that will engage the heart and body as
well as the head.
She has worked with us before, both at Conferences and Regional Days,
and also led worship at the 2007 “Heart of Worship” Conference in
Llandudno, organised by the Connexional Team.
Mark
Wakelin
Mark, a Methodist Minister, again is no stranger to MCMS members. He is
currently Director of the Guy Chester Centre in North London, and is a
former Secretary of MAYC. In September 2008 (subject to the approval of
the Methodist Conference) he will become
one of the new Connexional Team Secretaries, with a specific
responsibility for Internal Relationships. This will involve working to
develop policies and procedures that will enhance the Church’s worship
ministries and mission.
Christian Drama Resource
Centre
Andrea
Moles and Christine Watts are members of the Christian Drama Resource
Centre, based in Loughton, Essex. They are an Ecumenical group and work
to promote the Dramatic Arts and the use of the Centre’s resources in
the wider community.
Music
Resource Group
During the weekend
members of the Music Resource Group, who are developing proposals for
the new hymnbook and rolling resource, will lead a session giving the
latest details of this project.
Other
workshop sessions
In
addition we are planning other workshop sessions including Organ
Accompaniment, using instruments in worship and using other arts in
worship
For those who are able to stay until Monday breakfast there will be a
full programme on late Sunday afternoon/evening. We know, however that
some people will need to depart during Sunday afternoon.
Book
Stall
We know that people missed the book stall last year and we are planning
for a number of resource stalls to be available this year.
